Salou. Costa Dorada. 19 January 2022.
The Camping&Resort Sangulí de Salou is in luck, and not only because this 2022 turns 50. He is also overflowing with happiness because in just a few days he has received three highly appreciated awards: recognition as one of the best campsites in Europe by the ANWB associations in the Netherlands and ADAC in Germany; and the CaixaBank business career award.
The leading automobile association in the Netherlands, the ANWB, which has more than 4.5 million users, has been in charge of certifying the Sangulí campsite in Salou as the Top 5-star Camping. Its specialization and the theme of the accommodation has also earned it the Superplätze 2022 recognition from the prestigious German guide Allgemeiner Deutscher Automobile-Club e.V. (ADAC), the reference automobile association in Germany and the largest in Europe with more than 20 million members. The Sangulí receives this recognition from the ADAC, without interruption, since the end of the 90s.
In addition to the Sangulí de Salou, other campsites on the Costa Dorada have received recognition from the ANWB and the ADAC. They are Alannia Els Prats Camping & Resort (Mont-roig del Camp), Playa Montroig Camping & Resort (Mont-roig del Camp), Camping La Torre del Sol (Mont-roig del Camp Campo), Camping El Templo del Sol (L' Hospitalet del Infante), Camping Stel (Roda de Barà) and Camping Tamarit Beach Resort (Tamarit), which has been rated as the best campsite in Europe in the “Best rated accommodation” category.
All of them belong to the Association of Campsites of the Costa Daurada and Terres de l'Ebre, Campings Tarragona, which in turn is part of the Tarragona Business Federation of Hospitality and Tourism (FEHT), and represents 57 campsites present in the entire province of Tarragona. The president of the association, Mireia Sans, has expressed her satisfaction with these recognitions and has highlighted that some of the award-winning campsites repeat each year, “and that is very complicated”.
Business Achievement Award
On the other hand, and within the framework of the FITUR tourism fair, CaixaBank has given Camping&Resort Sangulí the Hotels&Tourism award for business career. On the campsite's 50th birthday, the financial institution wanted to recognize the evolution and adaptation of the Sangulí to market trends and needs, until it became a benchmark for European tourism, as evidenced by the aforementioned recognitions.
The theming of the campsite, the five swimming pool areas, the playgrounds and the green spaces offer maximum comfort to the campsite's customers, who can also enjoy daily shows and entertainment activities. In the gastronomic field, the Sangulí stands out for a gastronomic offer that has special consideration for children and people with food intolerances. In addition, it promotes pet-friendly policies and even has a specific club for them, the Pet Club.
The head of H&T at CaixaBank in the Catalonia territorial division, Albert Pascual, presented the award to Xavier Blasi, General Manager of Camping&Resort Sangulí in Salou, at the financial institution's stand at FITUR.
