The Extreme Man 226 Salou, Costa Dorada seduces foreign athletes
Salou. Costa Dorada. Months of preparation, training hard, sacrifice in general ... is the price to pay to be an "Extreme Man," a long distance triathlete. For the vast majority of those registered, the date of June 5th 2011 is the most important of the season. For this reason, the challenge will be transformed into project and stay in travel. Many participants will spend up to a week in Salou, enjoying the region with his family or his friends. The performance is very important for tourism in the town, if only it is a sporting event. It is even greater when Salou attracts athletes from abroad. "Especially with fantastic landscapes look beautiful evidence," summarizes Sophie Kiefer, member of the French triathlete Paul Triathlon Club (South West France). His team of 13 participants is a good example of this new public sports very sensitive to Salou arguments. Sophie confirms: "We chose the 226 Extreme Man Salou is well placed for the race on the calendar, because it is far from home (less than 500 km), because some may come with your family vacation and also because Spain is a great atmosphere ... we want! ". A ratio of two or three companions on average triathlete, the organization can now count on the presence of at least 150 French people in their event, for four or five days. To date, 340 athletes are enrolled, with 11 nationalities represented.
