Salou. Costa Dorada. 10 February 2021.
The City Council and the Municipal Tourist Board of Salou are working on the project for the recovery and conservation of different bunkers and buildings used during the Civil War for tourist visits. Specifically, these are the Bunker de la Glorieta, the Bunker de la Atalaya, the Nest of submachine guns in Po-Roig, and the Nest of submachine guns at Punta del Cavall.
The work that is being done has begun with the cataloging of these constructions from the Civil War to protect and recover them for their historical interest. In addition, they are located in Cap de Salou, the coastal area of the municipality with the most scenic value. For all this, the Salou Tourist Board wants to create a route and itineraries that allow visitors to know this heritage and enjoy the landscape where it is located, as explained by the mayor and president of the Board, Pere Granados.
Granados recalled that they are "very important and unique constructions, different from the rest of the constructions that exist on the Catalan coast" during the visit he made to the artillery battery from the republican era, but that it also had later elements of the Franco regime. point the coast and the beach of Salou were guarded.
