A road remodeled a few years ago and is still unknown to many salouenses, a special beauty and spectacular views. This route offers you Salou.com borders the "Roquer" which is popularly known as Cap Salou and has become a symbol of the city, thanks to a modern infrastructure and integrated harmoniously with the landscape. An affordable journey to walk with your partner, friends or family. This road connects the area with the street Replanells Columbus, and the immediate and crowded sandy Levante beach, along with walkways, stairs and roads much of the coves and beaches of Cap Salou.
Stage 1 - The terraces of Paseo Colon, the best starting point for the Camino de Ronda
El Camino de Ronda begins the end of Colon Street, right on the esplanade of the pylons. In this street are several cafes and restaurants, establishments with large terraces and a fascinating view of the Llevant beach and promenade Jaume I. From the terrace of Colon Street, and if the weather is sensed as the Ebro Delta enters the Mediterranean Sea. Goes by the name of Sant Jordi across the Gulf along the coast of Salou to the gorges of the Ebre Delta Welcome to the Gulf of Saint George
Stage 2 - The historical construction of the Lazaretto
Once the esplanade of the pylons, which narrows the gap between the main beach of Salou and the Camino de Ronda, started the route. A curiosity of this section is seen as the cause of building the road have some small sandy beaches, full of small rocks.
Then, and now on the boardwalk, we find the "Rei en Jaume chair," a set of rocks very close to sea tradition and a bit of folk humor have become a kind of singular monument. Immediately after the remains of a historic building: the old Lazaretto, formerly isolated building where the boats were from epidemic areas and containing some solid walls several meters high.
Stage 3 - From the viewpoint Capellans beach of Punta del Po-Roig
Continuing along the Camino de Ronda, after the catwalk that runs along a zig zag the old Lazaretto building, we discovered one of the most charming coves of Cap Salou, this is the Capellans beach, parallel to the streets of Brussels paths giving access stairs and a path made of paving stones half buried in the sand on the beach.
Once the Capellans beach, climb a fairly steep staircase with access to the Punta del Po-Roig. From here you enjoy superb panoramic views and is easy to imagine how the boats and ships stop in Salou made throughout history. Salouhas a natural harbor, which was once only on the Catalan coast from the Cap de Creus to Port sludge in the Delta de l'Ebre. For this reason it was chosen as early as the thirteenth century by James I to concentrate on these ships to be conquered Mallorca. Were numerous maritime expeditions that left or arrived inSalou, as this natural harbor gave them temporary shelter in case. For the same reason, centuries later, especially the sixteenth, the coast became accustomed to the arrival of pirates who led expeditions to ruin the old village of Barenys, and today is part of the town of Salou.
Subsequently there have been many historical events that has starred in the port of Salou, since the expulsion of the Jesuits to Italy, the arrival of the relic arm of Santa Tecla Tarragona patron, or the triumphant arrival of General Prim coming from the War Africa and was received here with great solemnity and celebration for the Reus. On top of this spectacular viewpoint you keep two "pillboxes" of the Spanish Civil War, which served to prevent a hypothetical attack by sea or beach landing Capellans or the Llenguadets Creek.
Then along a line of bushes, an exchange of the most beautiful beaches andunspoiled Salou: La Platja Llarga ( The Long Beach). Can be overcome by sideof sea, sand, or a ride full of vegetation that crosses the top part. Just after thisthere is the beach area Replanells, which ends in the area of infrastructureremodeled Way Round. Then the way along the coast is complicated and losestrack continuity. If you've been wanting to walk, we recommend you move to theCala Crancs (fourth stage) or go to Punta del Cavall, idyllic balcony with a viewto revise all the way done.
Stage 4 - The Cala Crancs, the favorite haunt of ancient pirates
In the middle of Cap Salou find a place of great geological interest, where a series of coves and beaches of various sizes create unique corners. Large rocks into the sea and form natural walls between the bays, capriciously eroded by the wind. These beaches were preferred by pirates at the time, as there are dozens of documented landing of these former criminals, who sought shelter and make slaves among the peoples of the then uninhabited land.
