During the presentation of the Salou Shopping Experience 2019 the mayor of Salou, Pere Granados, stressed that "the merchants of the city are following an exceptional path towards innovation" and recalled that the great challenge is to seasonalize the economy of the municipality and that 2.5 million visitors who choose Salou every year to spend their vacations “ enter the stores; This is the challenge . ”
For its part, the president of the Cambra de Comerç de Tarragona, Laura Roigé, explained that "the Salou Shopping Experience is the first festival of shopping experiences in the State, in a tourist destination as important as Salou", while the Councilor of the area of Economic Promotion of the City of Salou, Héctor Maiquez, said that "we are very satisfied with this new initiative that will allow the street to be taken to commerce and that it is the protagonist in its own natural habitat, which is the establishment".
Finally, the president of the Salou Shopping Association, Juli Vilaplana, affirmed that "the future of commerce goes through specialization and professionalization." The promotion campaign in the digital sphere of Salou Shopping Experience is subsidized by the European Union ERDF Fund and the co-financing of the Secretary of State for Commerce of the Ministry of Finance, as a revitalization action within the Retail Trade Support Plan of the 2019.
