Cos Blanc: what is it, date, times and route

Cos Blanc Salou 2024

Salou. Costa Dorada. 12 January 2025. The Cos Blanc in Salou is one of the most emblematic festivals on the Costa Daurada and is unique for its spectacular nature. Thousands of participants enjoy an impressive light and sound show every year, and a fantastic festive atmosphere. If you want to live an unrivalled experience, here we tell you everything you need to know: date, times and route of the Cos Blanc 2025.

The Cos Blanc is one of the events of the Salou Winter Festival but it has so much personality and such is the strength of its tradition, that for years it has been the most outstanding and special festival on the Costa Dorada.

What is the Cos Blanc?

The Cos Blanc is an incredible light and sound show around a large parade in which thirty floats and some 3,000 people in costume participate. The parade and the show are also accompanied by a constant shower of tons of confetti that are shot from 20 fountains spread along the route that the floats travel.

The latest musical hits accompany the entire parade from the 10 bridges of light and laser light that set the mood for the party and the 120,000 watts of sound that are installed for the occasion.

What day is the Cos Blanc?

Normally, the Cos Blanc of Salou is held on the first Saturday in February. Usually, in the morning, the parade takes place to show off the participating groups or groups, which travel along the main avenues of Salou such as Via Roma, Calle Barcelona or Calle Major. This parade is the best time to admire the costumes and floats of the groups participating in the Cos Blanc.

But the Coso Blanco show is held on the same day, although at dusk.

What time is the Cos Blanc?

The Cos Blanc itself, with the spectacle of music, sound and tons of confetti, starts at 7 p.m. and lasts between two and three hours, during which all the floats and the thousands of participants dressed up as comparsas or collas parade.

In fact, the parade goes through the planned route twice, in a circular circuit packed with people, some in costume, who dance and sing to the rhythm of the hits that are being played at that moment, and who improvise confetti battles with the tons that are fired from the cannons and also thrown from the floats.

Where is the Cos Blanc held?

In 2024, the location of the Cos Blanc was changed for the first time in its more than 40 years of history. The reason: security reasons given the large number of people who participate in the festival year after year. And the new route is a complete success.

The main light and sound show at the Cos Blanc is centred on the Passeig Jaume I, from the Plaça de les Comunitats Autonòmes to Illes Balears street, where the procession of floats links up again with the start, passing through Major street and Girona street. The route is run twice in total.

What else can you do at the Cos Blanc?

When the parade ends, the party continues in the marquee that is set up in the first section of the car park on the Passeig Jaume I, with dancing with an orchestra and then with a DJ until dawn.

In addition, the change of location to Passeig Jaume I allows restaurants to set up a marquee in this space where you can enjoy music and good snacks between 12 noon and 11 pm on the days before the Coso Blanco and during the day of the parade.

If you want to experience the Cos Blanc to the fullest, we recommend that you book a room in one of the hotels that open in Salou in winter and enjoy an unbeatable weekend plan.
