Tarragona fuses water and crisis in the River Francoli
Tarragona. Costa Dorada. 5th June 2012. Students Painting School of Art and Design Council of Tarragona in these days have produced a large mural on one of the bridges across the River Francolí. The action is part of the cultural initiative of the city of Tarragona "talking walls". The students have raised a line of work in contemporary art on the Street evoked the theme of the floods that had historically affected Tarragona and, metaphorically, economic crises and their ability to drag and dream properties. The faculty of the Department of Painting from the center of artistic education of the Provincialin Tarragona proposed to students of higher educational cycle for the Wall Art Wall made a speech to the river Francolí. The initial proposal was treating the issue of large floods that had inundated the historical stages Francolí River in the city of Tarragona, as well as other water-related disasters. The first and second year students who have completed this painting large mural intervention, wanted to transform the issue of water in a more metaphorical, referring to the tsunami crisis and that he takes all: money, health, education etc.. The result is a mural very dynamic, innovative and full of irony, in which aesthetics and theme are strongly present. This initiative has enabled students to practice on large paintings in a public space and, therefore, brings the arts to all citizens. In this painting students have participated Jose Luis Alija, Eric Blanch, Kexin Chen, Ignacio Cid, Miquel Armengol, Donald Gene, Ramon Grau Jansà Maria, Maria Jose Lorente, Maria Pilar Martin, Oscar Masdeu, Angel Joaquin Monti, Silvia Ramal , Rosario Rovira, Eloi Torruella and Edgar Valls.
