Opening of the 32nd International Music Festival Pau Casals
El Vendrell. Costa Dorada. 11th July 2012. On Saturday July 14, at 22 am, start the 32nd International Music Festival of Peace Casals, who this year will offer twelve concerts of high quality. This inaugural concert will be interpreted three masterpieces: Suite no. 2 in D minor for Cello, J. S. Bach Sonata no. 1 in E minor for cello and piano, J. Brahms, and the Sonata in G minor for cello and piano, S. Rachmaninov. The stage will be one of the best cello players of the moment, Gautier Capuçon, a young Frenchman who plays a cello built by Matteo Goffriler. Remember also that Pablo Casals played an instrument Goffriler. The French pianist Jérôme Ducros accompany the. Moreover, the same Saturday, at 19.30 pm, concerts start of the second edition of Youth Music Festival in the Gardens. These concerts, which take place in the gardens of the Villa Museo Pablo Casals, are organized by the Pau Casals Foundation and have the collaboration of the School of Music of Catalonia (ESMUC). On this occasion, the sound-Sax Quartet, formed for four saxophones to perform works by Bozza, Piazzola and Gershwin, the concert series will begin in the gardens.
